Gotta launch, it’s March 4th

two birds with blue webbed feet
I really want to launch my new blog today on March 4th. March forth! I seem to use this date as a jumping-off point every year, usually by publishing something. This blog is where I hold the reins on many different parts of me – and to launch today, I am creating several very short posts to welcome you into all these different categories, or topics, I’ll be sharing here.

Here are the topics and links to each short welcoming article:

Chronological – This is the category for my “daily musing” type articles. Everything that doesn’t fit in any of the other categories will go here, and some things that are included in other categories will be here also. First off I’m going to talk about the biggest thing on my mind right now: Petting the whales. Yep! Go read.

Publishing – You’re invited to follow along as I use and teach the most current tools for self-publishing and monetizing your books and other creations. I’m using Smashwords to publish a number of guides I’ve created, as well as some poetry and fiction.

The Brain – I’m kicking this off with an article about depression. Don’t be blue now, this is a conversation about the fascinating article Jonah Lehrer published in the New York Times. It’s sent me on a mental journey, exploring how depression has affected my life and how I work with my thoughts today as a mostly-pretty-joyful person.

Cancer-wise – A big part of this new blog is providing a place to be open about how cancer changes things. I was diagnosed eleven years ago, went through radical treatment, and am still here in spite of the grim predictions. Every day now is an extra day – hence my blog’s name. What I hope to give you is a window into the multi-dimensional life experiences which continue to be available, right alongside the heavy impact of cancer on our mental, physical, and financial lives. There is too much that is not talked about. Talking can be healing. Let’s see what evolves here.

Blogs and Marketing – This area is related to the Publishing category, but here I’ll put articles and information to help those of you who want to follow along with your own blogs – brand new or otherwise – and who are also interested in how blogs are monetized, how to create an income, and how this strange new world of social media fits into our lives as entrepreneurs, artists, writers, and explorers.

Brain Exploration – Hang out a few days for this one, I’m gathering up a nice collection of stuff I’ve written and published about the brain. Lotsa links to follow.

Art as Salvation – Maybe I’ll tone that down (maybe not), but art is such an important part of my world, it has to be a major category here. I am constantly creating new collages to explain my way around. You’ll see a lot of them on the site here. I’ll eventually create an art page and you can browse the stuff. Meanwhile, a little bit of it is on this post:
Nine Notables (it’s on my other blog, Great Adaptations)
and this is a post that talks about an iPhone app which allows you to create interesting versions of a piece of art or a photograph:
Dolphinessence (up shortly)

Sound of rocket ship winding up: Ready, set, lauuuuuunchhh!

I’m all up in the air about it. Thank you for being here with me! Oh, and please do subscribe to my community, there on the right column. I send my web community special materials that are not found here on the public blog.
